Hi!
Dan Gay here, aka “dang.”
I’m a painter, sculptor, and multi-media artist living in Portland, Oregon. After earning a BFA in Sculpture at the University of Michigan, I helped develop 555, a non-profit art organization that lives on in Detroit.
I moved from Detroit to Portland, following family and some Burning Man friends, and soon met my brilliant partner of 17 years.
I’ve had various production artist roles, working with everything from stained glass to screen-printing; and in roles ranging from Carpenter to Principal Designer.
Over the last few decades, I’ve had the opportunity to make art for film and television, gaming, retail, live events, promotional vehicles, photo shoots, festivals, magazines, and galleries.
Recent career highlights include working in stop-motion animation as a Set Fabricator for Jordan Peele and Henry Selick’s Wendell & Wild and as a model maker on LAIKA’s upcoming Wildwood.
I exhibit paintings and sculptures and look forward to exhibiting more.
