Hi!
Dan Gay here, aka “dang.” I’m a painter, sculptor, and multi-media artist living in Portland, Oregon.
After earning a BFA in Sculpture at the University of Michigan, I helped develop 555 Nonprofit Gallery and Studios, which lives on in Detroit.
I’ve worked as a sculptor, designer, carpenter, screen printer, illustrator, fabricator, production artist, and lead.
Since moving to Portland, I’ve had the opportunity to make art for film and television, gaming, retail, live events, promotional vehicles, photo shoots, festivals, magazines, and galleries.
Recent career highlights include widely exhibiting my paintings, and working in stop-motion animation as a Set Fabricator for Jordan Peele and Henry Selick’s Wendell & Wild and as a model maker on LAIKA’s upcoming Wildwood.
